Hey y’all, I hope y’all had a good
week!
It was a really slow
week for us and we had a ton of people flake on us, which isn’t fun, but that’s
just what happens sometimes. Literally everyone that we have been working
with was either sick or out of town, it was crazy. So we just hit the
streets hard again!
One cool thing that
happened was when we were out working all day and it had just been really
rough. A lot of angry, mean, bitter, wonderful children of God were
especially just getting to us that day. So, as part of our dinner hour,
we decided to take it easy for a few minutes and walk around a Cabela’s that we
were pretty close to. As we were walking out, one of the cashiers stopped
us and asked who we were. So we were able to talk to him for a little bit, and
explain what we do, and also clear up some misconceptions. It seems like just a
small little thing, which it was, but it was definitely a little tender mercy
that was needed that night!
We had our interviews
with President Pickett this week as well, which are always good. Mine now
with him are usually pretty brief, we just chat for a bit about random stuff
then I give him the rundown of the district and that’s about it. It’s pretty
nice.
After District meeting
this week, Elder Harris, who is one of the Zone Leaders, says "Hey, my
family sent me some of the hottest chocolate in the world, who wants to try
some?". Of course we all say yes… huge mistake. We all lined up so
we could film it and each had a piece that was literally 1cm x 1cm. We
all popped it in and within 10 seconds there were 8 crying elders gasping for
air. It was absolutely miserable, haha! Apparently it was 9,000,000
Scoville units or something like that. I don’t know what that means but it
hurts.
Other than that it was another
pretty normal week. Hope y’all have a good one!
Elder Roden
