Pretty good week here!

From July 8:
Monday night and Tuesday, we were on splits in Marion, and I went with Elder Cuell from Spanish Fork UT. We had a really fun time together, even though it was 94 and humid as all get out.
Then Friday night to Saturday we were working with the Asheville Central elders. I went with Elder Knapp from Payson UT, who is on his 2nd to last transfer.  He is a really good guy and we get a long super well.

On Friday afternoon we finally got back into contact with a guy named Tyler Jackson, who Elder Ostler and I were working with.  Long story short, a couple miracles played out and he is going to be baptized next week on Sunday.  We are really excited for him.  He doesn’t have much and felt bad about going to church in old clothes.  Luckily, he is about my size, so I gave him a suit to wear, as well as a shirt. Then we found a bunch of extra ties in our apartment for him. He was really grateful for it and we are super excited to see this happen.

Other than that, another normal week. Transfer calls are on Saturday, so that is always interesting to find out what will be happening.
Over the last couple of weeks I’ve learned of the passing of my great-grandparents.  First my Grandma, Eddie Maycock, followed 18 days later by my Grandpa, Booth Maycock.  They were an incredible duo, and even better examples.   I was able to receive my patriarchal blessing from my Grandpa Maycock, and that is something I will always cherish.  I’m grateful for these experiences in our lives, although they are tough.  I know for me personally, I have felt very close to them in the last couple of days. I’m grateful to know they are together and are where they need to be.
Enos 1:27
And I soon go to the place of my rest, which is with my Redeemer; for I know that in him I shall rest. And I rejoice in the day when my mortal shall put on immortality, and shall stand before him; then shall I see his face with pleasure, and he will say unto me: Come unto me, ye blessed, there is a place prepared for you in the mansions of my Father. Amen.

From June 24, 2019:
Hey y’all, it was another busy week here in NC.
The highlight of the week was probably from Thursday on.
Thursday night we drove over to Cherokee and spent the night with Elder Buhrley and Elder Farley.  Then the next day I went out and worked with Buhrley, who is a really cool dude. We get along really well, so it was fun.  Then that night Elder Scott and I  headed up through Gatlinburg and Sevierville on the way to Knoxville. It's always fun to see my first area, even if just driving through.  Then that night we got to the Assistants’ apartment.
Saturday, we spent the day working their area. I was with Elder Harris, who I've actually been on like 6 exchanges with, Haha. But we had a pretty good day together.
Not too much else to report on, but everything is going well here!

From July 1, 2019:
Well this week was pretty interesting, but we had some fun things happen.
We were totally out of miles (40 over our allotment) so we have been on foot.  Everything within 2 miles of our apartment has been tracted already, so we had a lot of time out in the 90 degree humid weather, Haha. But it was still good, we taught some really great lessons, so it was worth it.
We had the Asheville elders down for exchanges, and I went with Elder Fox. We were only companions for about 8 days total last transfer, but I still think he was one of my favorite companions, so it was fun with him.
On Sunday night we ate dinner with a member who is also a chiropractor, so he gave us a free adjustment, which was pretty cool.
Other than that, just another busy week of walking. Hope everyone has a good one.
