From December 24, 2018:
Hey y'all
First off just wanna say thanks to everyone who has been sending mail or packages for Christmas. It’s always a really nice surprise, so thanks again, I really appreciate it!
I guess the highlights of this week are:
District Meeting:
We had our first one of the transfer and it was great. It’s definitely a little different having all Elders, but it’s fun. We had a really good council together and set goals and such for this transfer, and there is a lot to look forward too! For my training I did something a little different where we all went out in the hall and played a few holes of mini golf, haha. It was a fun way to get a principle across in a unique way. After the meeting we all went and had lunch together. We’ve got a solid group here.
Mark:
Mark was able to come to church again this week, which was really great to see. He really likes coming so that’s a great sign. This week he offered to take us out to eat sometime so hopefully we can make that happen.
Hatches:
The Hatch family is a really great family that we work closely with. Bro. Hatch is the Branch mission leader. But they often have us over to eat on Sundays as well. This Sunday they offered to have us and the Collegedale Elders over, since we were already driving them around because they are on bikes.
We had some really good chili and cornbread and we will just say that their youngest boy, Kendrick, who is probably 4 or 5 had too much too fast. He let out a couple big coughs, and I could just tell he was in trouble, haha. He just started letting out a stream of vomit over himself, and the chili. Elder Anderson was sitting right next to me further down the table and just turned away and looked at me, pale faced, and just kept saying "I can’t handle puke dude" over and over again. He was just about dry heaving and I just kept telling him he better not spew, and meanwhile we hear little Kendrick filling up 2 full bowls. Haha! It was so crazy but it was so funny. Luckily, Anderson was able to hold his stomach.
Later they also gave us some homemade bread, chex mix, and chocolate for Christmas, so that was great.
The rest of the week was full of a lot of finding and the usual missionary stuff. Thanks again for all the support, Merry Christmas!

From December 31, 2018:
Well I hope y’all had a good Christmas! Thanks again for all
the emails, letters, and packages! It made it a really fun Holiday!
MON:
We had a good pday and finished it off by going to a member’s
house, the Mcpheters, for dinner and to hang out for the night. It was a really
fun night. They have 6 kids and it was fun to see them super excited during their
Christmas Eve traditions! Then we got home that night and Brother Hatch
had cut down a little tree from his yard and left it on our porch, Haha. So we
had a tree for the night!

TUE:
Today we woke up and opened our packages and stuff,
then went to a members house for breakfast. After that we went to pick up the
Collegedale Elders and went to the church. We called home, which was of course
the highlight of the week, and hung out at the church most of the day while
everyone called home.
Neither of us had dinners that night so we went out
to eat at the only place we could find open, a Chinese buffet, Haha. There were
a lot of 'Christmas Story' jokes.
The rest of the week was full of a lot of contacting and
tracting as well. Thanks again for everything, have a good week!
