Another Busy Week in NC

We had a pretty dang busy week this week!
Mon:
We had a good Pday with the district at the church. Then we went and taught a man named Juan Sesa, who is from Mexico. We had a great lesson with him, and he wants to be baptized. He just needs to come to church.  Then that night we went up to downtown Asheville to spend the night with the Elders in the mansion.  The mansion is famous in the mission because it is a huge 2 story house, with a basement and attic. And only 2 Elders live there.
Tue:
Today started at 4:00am when we woke up, got ready and headed out.  We picked up the Sister training leaders in Weaverville and headed up to Knoxville for MLC (Mission leadership council).  It was a really good meeting.  It is a time for all the ZL's and STL's in the mission to get together with President and Sister Pickett and the Assistants and discuss what is happening in each of our zones, and present goals and plans for this upcoming transfer.
Wed:
Today was mostly a lot of bouncing around in our area, and talking to a bunch of people we haven’t been able to teach in a while.
It's always easy to pick out Elder Roden in a crowd!

Thu:
Zone conference was at 9am, and since it was in our zone, we were kind of in charge of setting stuff up, and I was supposed to conduct.  It was probably the best zone conference of my mission. The Spirit was extremely strong the whole time and it was just a really productive meeting.  Then later that night we had Stake Correlation (Us, STL's, President Pickett, Stake President), which was a great meeting.

Meeting up with former comps at zone conference

Fri:
We parked the truck because our miles were hurting. And it was a looong hot day.  We were basically tracting from 11:00am to 8:00pm when we got home for dinner, haha. But it was a pretty good day.
Sat:
On Saturday a lady we have been working with named Jean Patton was baptized and that was awesome.

Sun:
Another busy day of calls and filling put reports.

All in all, a pretty good week. Grateful to be here in NC!

Hey everyone,

So the front half of this week was me and Elder Fox running around in both areas taking care of a bunch of stuff.  Then Wednesday we headed up to Farragut for transfers.  My new comp is Elder Scott from Syracuse Utah and this weekend has just been spent getting him adjusted to the area and everything down here.  This upcoming week is crazy busy so there should be more to talk about, but as for now all is well here.

Well, another Crazy week in NC!
Last district meeting with this group

The week started out normal with a lot of finding. Then halfway through we got a call from the AP's letting us know that Elder Ostler was going to be heading up to Knoxville to be with them. So, they came and picked him up and Elder Fox is now back with me until transfers. I will really miss Elder Ostler, he has definitely been up towards the top of my list of companions. But as for now, me and Fox really get along and laugh a lot together, so it's been great.
Elders Fox and Roden

On Saturday, because the Asheville Ward (Elder Fox's area) had a recent convert going, we were actually able to go with the stake youth temple trip to the Columbia South Carolina Temple and that was awesome!

Saturday was also transfer calls and I found out I will be training a new ZL, Elder Scott. I have met him a couple times before and he seems like a really cool guy so I'm excited. Plus, I'm now the driver so I'm really excited to get to know the Tacoma! Haha.

Since the Temple on Saturday I have been thinking a lot about how the blessings of the temple can impact our lives. I was studying in Ezekiel chapter 47, and he gives a beautiful explanation of how our lives can be blessed and grow through the Temple. I would especially suggest pondering verses 1-10, comparing it to how our lives change the further along we go on the covenant path.
Well I hope y’all have a great week!
